-
- For those of you in the know, Atrophy, which is set to be not only
- the greatest shoot'em up ever on the Amiga, but the greatest shoot'em
- up on any platform is nearing completion.
-
- The game already features the following...
-
- + 10 Ham-8 (16.5 million cols.) pictures, a total of over 100+MB
- worth of GFX.
- + Over 6Mb of some of the best sounding music ever
- + 6 Giant levels with 12 end/mid level guardians
- + over 5000 frames of animation
- + 60+ objects on screen at any one time
- + over 300 colours on screen at any one time
- + keyboard, joystick, redefinable keys, mouse
- + Hard drive installable, executable from Workbench
- + Minimum disk swapping. On 4 disks or CD
- + Simultaneous 2 player action, shared lives option
- + Flexible configuration, and many many game options
- + Quarter and half pixel smooth dual playfield scrolling
- + Intelligent random attack patterns for aliens!
- + Super smooth animations
- + No slow down even with two players and total fire power
- + Many weapons pick ups
-
-
- Now many people have questioned how so much data (over 100Mb of
- Graphics and 6Mb of music) can possibly fit onto 4 or perhaps 5
- disks....the answer is that the developers....Intersect
- Development have written not one, but two new compression
- routines that compress graphics by incredible amounts and allow
- uncompaction in just 1 second compared with 12 seconds of a
- normal JPEG! The same has been done for music, as most people
- know music is very hard to compress, and so special routines
- have been written that compress the music by more than most if
- not all available routines! Atrophy is technically incredible!
-
- Hopefully, you will have seen screenshots of the game and previews
- in all the major Amiga magazines including Amiga Format, Power,
- Computing and CU Amiga, etc. and so already have an idea of what
- the game looks like and what is already working.
-
-
- The game is now just 3-4 weeks away from completion, but there is
- still time to add new features and that's where we would like your
- help and expertise as a gameplayer...
-
- If you have any ideas for features that you would like to see in
- Atrophy...then please tell us. Anything you would really like to
- see. Atrophy is already set to be the best shoot'em up on any
- platform and will be a something to show off the Amiga and its
- abilities, but we want to go even further, so if you have any ideas
- on what you want in a shoot'em up, then please let us know. This
- is your chance to have an input.
